Multiple tracks strung together to help you plan an epic adventure.
First trip of 2023! Join me as I head inland from Koitiata Beach through the hills and up to Pokaka Mill before heading out to the gem - Tukino.
In this two part series we explore the South Island in winter - challenged by the weather, things don't quite go to plan - but that's part of the fun!
Part two takes us up to the old Big River gold mine before heading across Lewis Pass and out towards Lake Tennyson for a freezing night.
Join me for a super chill trip through the northern Wairarapa! Kicking off at Castle Point I head into the hills, visit an epic waterfall before punching back out to the coast again to wrap things up.
When you turn an easy day trip into a mint little overnighter camped up in a valley with no one around. Giant cliffs, amazing views - it can only be Ocean Beach in the Wairarapa!
We're back down south! Epic weather, epic views - pretty hard to beat!
In this episode Daniel heads out to explore the canals and rivers around Twizel before the fam' heads up to Aoraki Mt Cook National Park to check out the Blue Lakes on foot before heading back down the lake to recreate a photo Daniel took years ago.
The Central Plateau is full of amazing spots to explore - from barron volcanic landscapes, amazing rivers, ancient native forests, epic campsites - it has it all!
Join Daniel as he heads through Tukino Road, Waipakihi Road, State Forest 70, Link Road/The Centre of the North Island in the Pureora Forest Park and the Pokaka Mill Campsite, one of our favourites.
Daniel sets out on three days of exploring the hidden gems in the Whanganui/Taranaki area. Between the beaches, Meremere Road (where things go a tad wrong), the "most expensive road to maintain" Kiwi Road and the other gems, it's a pretty amazing place to spend a weekend!
With a few days spare we make a move up to East Cape - one of the more remote areas in the North Island - for an epic adventure up Old Motu Road before heading out to East Cape. Mint beaches and awesome views await.
The best 4wd track in New Zealand? Quite possibly! We explore the old gold mining settlement of Macetown before heading up the West Coast, stopping in at some awesome spots then onto the Braeburn Range and up Porika Road before heading up to Picton to catch the ferry back to Wellington.
We're back out exploring! In this episode we head head through Thompsons Gorge, head up Mt Moka for a quick look before making our way over to Skippers Canyon Road, also know as New Zealand's "Most Dangerous Road" and out towards the abandoned town where we were blown away with how epic it was! Exploring the South Island in winter is pretty amazing!
Daniel headed south for 2 weeks of filming and exploring in the South Island - sadly COVID-19 had other ideas and forced an early retreat. Even still, he managed to get down through some amazing spots - Rainbow Road, Molesworth Station, Lees Valley and the Macaulay Valley!
We wind our way along the southern coast of the North Island visiting some of the amazing sights and exploring the offroad tracks that hug the hills in an epic weekend trip out to the Wairarapa. Starting the day at Ocean Beach, we head along to Lake Ferry, Whangaimoana Beach then out to Palliser for an amazing night camping under the stars.
Summer is here which means one of the best tracks in the North Island is open - the 42 Traverse, a 46 km remote route through the centre of the North Island. The track has been well graded for the 2020 season, but not everything goes to plan for one of the trucks...
We take our new 80 Series Landcruiser and the Hilux up into the hills above the Manawatu for a showdown - new vs old, husband vs wife - and to explore some awesome 4wd tracks high up in the hills. Driving with views this good is pretty hard to beat!
