A quieter run along the far side of the valley, tracing the river flat and lower slopes well away from the highway traffic.

It's a formed gravel surface the whole way, with bush-clad hills, river views and the usual changeable mountain weather rolling through.

Like most back roads through here, take it easy on the loose gravel and keep an eye out for oncoming traffic where it narrows down.
