Up along the range that runs out from Waikaia Bush, this one follows the spine toward the edge of the conservation area at the Bains Block boundary. Classic high-country tops driving, with the track tracing the ridgeline as you go.

The payoff is open tops and big sweeping views across the surrounding ranges. Weather up here turns quickly and visibility can drop without much warning, so it's worth picking a clear day and keeping an eye on conditions as you head round. The exposure is real, so a bit of planning goes a long way.

Best left to capable 4WDs that are set up for changeable mountain weather. On a good day the panoramas open right up, and it's about as remote and open as this corner of the country gets.
