A gravel road winds through native bush before dropping you out onto the Mikonui River. Along the way a few turn-offs lead down into the creeks, so it's a relaxed one to poke about at your own pace.

Generally rated easy and good for a gentle day out. It does get narrow in parts, so take it steady and be ready to give way when you meet oncoming traffic.

With the bush surrounds and the river at the finish, Totora Valley is a good way to soak up classic West Coast scenery.
