4WD track in the Coromandel region
Tairua River Access is a short, easy gravel detour in the Coromandel that drops through bush to a quiet leafy spot beside the river.
Short detour off the road, dropping down through the bush to the edge of the Tairua River. A quiet, leafy spot by the water, good for a relaxed stop while you're poking around the wider Tairua area.
The run itself is gravel and super easy with only low bush rash, so most vehicles will manage. There's a shallow section where you can wade through the river edge, not across the river, and you'd want a 4x4 to climb back up the bank afterwards.
Think of it as a nice short detour rather than a destination drive. Good place to pull over and have lunch beside the water.
