A short gravel run up to the Route Burn campsite in the high country, well worth the quick detour if you're passing through. The surrounding landscape opens up as you climb, and the views are the main reason to make the trip.

The gravel keeps it easy. No technical driving here, so most vehicles will handle it fine and you can spend your time looking around rather than picking lines.

Good spot to stop for a break or pitch up for the night at the campsite. Either way the views do most of the talking.
