4WD track in the Canterbury region
Potts River is a Canterbury high country run up the braided riverbed, with ever-changing shingle crossings and open tussock and mountain views.
A run up the Potts River bed, out in the high country between Lake Heron and the Rangitata. It's braided riverbed driving, so the going shifts about with each flood and you'll be picking your own line as you go. No two trips are quite the same.
Come prepared and bring a mate, this isn't the sort of place to be stuck on your own. River levels can come up fast, so keep an eye on the weather and know where your crossings are. Leave no trace you were ever there.
