4WD track in the Southland region
Potters Huts is a short, easy high-country 4WD run in Southland, finishing at a set of historic huts with a bit of pastoral heritage.
A quick run out across open high country, this one finishes at the old Potters Huts. The huts are a reminder of the area's pastoral and high-country past, and worth a poke around once you get there.
The driving is easy and the going generally simple. Good one if you've only got a bit of time and want some history at the end of it. As with a lot of the Southland backcountry, the weather can turn quickly, so check conditions before you head out.
Stick to the formed track to protect the surrounds and keep things in good nick for the next lot through.
