Out through the Lindis high country, this gravel road traces the river valley toward the old Lindis Hotel campsite. The land opens up into tussock the whole way, with the river keeping you company for most of it.

The going is easy and suits most vehicles. More of a relaxed scenic drive than anything technical, so it's a good pick if you're after classic Otago tussock country without having to work for it.

The historic Lindis Hotel campsite at the end makes a natural place to pull over for a bit. Big open views, the river alongside, and a quiet spot to stop. Pleasant and straightforward run.
