4WD track in the West Coast region
Mt Frederick is a very difficult West Coast 4WD climb with steep rocky going, a river crossing and remote backcountry scenery for skilled drivers.
A genuinely challenging climb up a steep hill, this one takes you about as close to the summit as the terrain will let you. It's graded very difficult and earns it, so come prepared with a capable vehicle and recovery gear. Not one for beginners or stock vehicles.
Expect tight, rocky sections and steep rocky climbs that really test your line choice, plus a river crossing and a bit of mud along the way. The technical going is matched by a real sense of remoteness, with classic backcountry scenery the whole way up.
