This short 4WD track leads out to Lake Emily in the Canterbury high country. Although brief, it's tougher than a typical beginner route, with a rutted surface that includes some deep, carved-out ruts and holes along the way, so it's better suited to capable 4WDs than to first-timers. 2WD vehicles can be parked on the verge of the farm track - please be considerate of other users and farm vehicles, as this is a working farm. From there, 4WD vehicles can continue a further 1.4 km to a car park on the public conservation land. Don't go beyond the car park. It's a well-rated little run that rewards the effort, delivering you to the quiet lakeside setting at the end.
