Running along the base of the mountains beside Lake Ohau, this one keeps the water in view for much of the drive. The ranges climb straight up off the far shore, and it's quiet country out here in the high country.

Glen Lyon Road is more a scenic cruise than a technical test. The going is easy, so you can take your time and watch the lake and the peaks rather than your wheels. Open lake vistas the whole way and that big mountain backdrop that this part of the country does so well.

Good one to pull over and soak it in. The remote feel is half the appeal.
