Heading in to the old Green Hut, you get a proper taste of West Coast bush.

The track's rough and remote, with a few river crossings to work through and tight scrub squeezing the sides in places. Nothing polished about it, but that's the appeal.

Green Hut itself is derelict now, so don't count on it for shelter, but it makes a fair enough turnaround point. Worth having a capable rig and some patience for the crossings.
