4WD track in the Coromandel region
A short forestry road branching off the 309 Road in the Coromandel ranges. The drive begins with a little ford, which is generally dry, and a small play area before climbing up into the hills along a forestry road. As you gain height you'll catch glimpses of the distinctive Castle Rock outcrop that gives the track its name. It's an easy, enjoyable run with some scenic forest surrounds. Eventually you'll reach a gate that marks the end of the drivable section. A cool little detour if you're exploring the 309 Road area.
