A short gravel detour out to the old gold-mining locality of Bendigo, up Central Otago way. Not really a destination on its own, but worth ducking up when you're poking around the area.

The road is straightforward gravel and gets through without much fuss. It runs you through the dry, open tussock-and-schist country that defines this part of the world.

Best treated as a connector or a quick side trip rather than a full day's drive, but handy to have on your map when you're heading through.
