Up at the very top of the South Island, this short gravel road runs out toward Cape Farewell and the wild coast around Farewell Spit. The country up here is rugged and windswept, with open headlands and big sweeps of sea.

It's a straightforward gravel road, a handy connector for getting to the Cape Farewell Lookout, one of the most northerly viewpoints on the mainland.
