Off Northbank Road out of Blenheim, this gravel route heads deep into the foothills of Mount Richmond Forest Park. It's quiet country, a pocket of regenerating bush and working farmland well away from the main roads.

The road follows Top Valley Stream, winding through patches of native forest with rugged ridgelines in view. It can be rough, narrow and muddy in places, particularly after rain, so it's one for 4WDs.

A peaceful drive into classic backcountry, with the odd view across the Wairau Valley to the Kaikōura Ranges.
