Tokerau Beach (Northern access)

4WD track in the Northland region

Tokerau Beach northern access in Northland's Far North, dropping onto a long open stretch of sand for a classic Northland beach drive at low tide.

The northernmost way down onto Tokerau Beach, in the Far North. Drop off the access and you're onto a long, open run of sand, dunes on one side and the surf on the other.

Classic Northland beach driving. Wide ocean views, plenty of room to spread out at low tide, and a remote feel to this part of the peninsula. Good one for a relaxed coastal cruise once you're down on the firm sand.

As with any beach work, watch the tides and the soft patches, and take a bit of care at the dune access where conditions shift. Best done on a dropping tide so you've got room to play with.
