West of Ngaruawahia, this gravel road runs out through rolling hill country and working farmland towards the coast. Easygoing driving for the most part, with open pastoral views opening up and the odd glimpse of the rugged coastline as you head west.

It links up well with other roads round the area, so you can string together a longer run along the coast rather than just treating it as an out-and-back.
