A handy gravel detour off SH1 on the way down to Molesworth Station, leaving easily out of Blenheim. It winds up through the hills with some nice scenery along the way, an easy alternative to grinding down the main highway.

It's a well-maintained gravel road with no significant obstacles. The climb has tight switchbacks and sharper corners, and the gravel can run deep, so keep your speed in check on the way up. Allow around 25-30 minutes to drive it.

Consistently rated highly, and a good way to start a Molesworth trip. Gets you off the tarmac and gives you somewhere to pull over and air down before the adventure proper begins.
