A short side track that branches off the main route and runs out to some hydro infrastructure. Easy going, and worth the detour if you're already working through the wider track network.

The setting is quiet, with views out over the surrounding bush. At the end you get a look at the Taurewa intake structure, where you can see the water management at work in a peaceful patch of forest.

Not a big drive on its own, more a relaxed add-on to a day out on the network. Good one if you want a forest outlook and a glimpse of the hydro system up close.
