Select Loop Road is a well-graded metalled road winding through the Pureora Forest in the Waikato. Maintained by the King Country 4WD Club, it makes for an accessible drive on gravel surfaces, though branching off onto other routes in the area is best not tackled lightly. The forest is a stunning place to explore, with beautiful native bush and some genuinely huge trees lining the way. Expect medium bush rash in places where the foliage closes in.
