A short drop down onto the open gravel of the Awatere riverbed. One of a couple of access options around here, so which one you take comes down to how far in from the highway you want to be.

The track runs down onto the river flats, where it opens out into a big, spacious bit of riverbed. Handy way to get to the water, whether you're chasing a quieter spot further in or somewhere a bit more convenient near the road.

Nothing technical about it. This one's really just about getting down to the riverbed rather than the drive itself. Once you're down there's plenty of room on the gravel flats to spread out.
