4WD track in the Northland region
Rarawa Beach Road is a short gravel run to a white silica-sand beach in Northland's Far North, with a DOC campsite right by the coast.
A short gravel road runs down to Rarawa Beach. It's an easy enough drive that ends near the coast, where there's a DOC campsite tucked in close to the beach. Quiet spot, and a good one if you want to get to the coast without taking on a harder 4WD trail.
Rarawa is known for its bright white silica sand, which really stands out against the blue water. The campsite near the beach works well for an overnight or just a relaxed coastal stop.
Keep in mind it's an exposed northern beach, so come prepared for sun, wind and dune conditions. Good option if you're exploring the Far North and just want a simple run out to a nice bit of coastline.
