A quiet gravel detour winding across the ranges, good for getting off the sealed highways and into some backcountry. The road climbs and dips through forested hill country, and the views open out across the surrounding ranges as you go.

The gravel is generally straightforward, so most 4WD travellers will be fine. This is more about a relaxed, scenic drive than any technical challenge.
