Twisty gravel winding through the hill country, with a stretch passing the Rangi Scenic Reserve. The native bush keeps things shaded and interesting, then the road opens out to some good views across the surrounding hills.

It's a graded gravel route, so the going is straightforward enough for most vehicles. More of a relaxed backcountry drive with plenty to look at than a test of the truck.

The winding character and the bush through the reserve give it a bit of personality from one end to the other. Worth a pull-over for the views when the country opens up.
