4WD track in the Nelson region
Mt Duppa is an easy gravel road near Nelson, climbing through native forest to a carpark with a walking track on to the summit views.
A scenic gravel road climbs steadily through native forest in the hills.
As you gain height the bush opens up now and then, with glimpses out over the surrounding country. The road winds gently upward and finishes at a carpark at the end.
From there, keen walkers can carry on toward the Mt Duppa summit on foot. Allow around an hour each way to where the better panoramic views wait at the top.
