Where the Mohaka River spills into the sea on the northern Hawke's Bay coast, the track drops down to a wide, open beach with the river mouth running alongside. Easy spot to set up for a chill day with the family, or just have a nosey if you're passing through.

Facilities are minimal, so bring everything you need. As with any beach driving here, keep an eye on the tides and soft sand, and go gently around the river mouth. A good low-key day out on the coast.
