Lake access

4WD track in the Northland region

Lake access is a short, scratchy Northland side track that pushes through tight scrub to reach a secluded lakeshore view, best for drivers happy with some pinstriping.

This short side track in Northland branches off the main route and runs out to one of the area's lakes. It's a quick detour, but the going is tight and scratchy, with plenty of overhanging branches and scrub brushing the sides of your vehicle as you push through.

Despite the pinstriping, it's a rewarding little run for those who like to seek out quieter corners. The narrow, overgrown sections give way to the lakeshore, where you can stop and take in the view over the water.

Best suited to drivers who don't mind a bit of paint risk in exchange for reaching a secluded waterside destination. Keep your speed low and watch for the tightest, most overgrown stretches as you near the lake.
