A quiet run through some very isolated hill country, the kind of place where you might not see another vehicle all day. The graded gravel winds along with sweeping views out over remote farmland and rolling hills. Easy going rather than a technical challenge, so it's more about the scenery and the back country feel than testing the truck.

The Kauarapaoa Extension ends at a clearly marked locked gate, so you'll be returning the way you came. Along the way you pass a few other gates used for stock control. Leave those exactly as you find them to keep the landowners onside and the access open.
