Boulder Stream

4WD track in the Tasman region

Boulder Stream is a narrow, slow-going Tasman 4WD route hugging the cliffline to a hut, with rough rocky ground and roadside campsites along the way.

Narrow and slow-going, this route hugs the cliffline as it picks its way through to the hut. Plenty of cliffside views along the way, and a remote, rugged feel to the whole thing.

The driving is super bumpy over rough, rocky ground, so take your time. Don't plan on covering much distance quickly. It's a route that asks for patience rather than speed.

Little campsite spots are scattered along the way, so it's easy to pull over and settle in for the night wherever the scenery takes your fancy. With the hut at the end as a destination, it suits an unhurried overnight trip rather than a quick blast. Allow a generous amount of time and enjoy it at the pace it demands.
