Whangaiterenga Campsite

Campsite in the Coromandel region

(2)

Whangaiterenga Campsite sits in the Coromandel Forest Park, near the meeting point of the Whangaiterenga Stream and the Kauaeranga River. It's a clean, well-maintained site set among bush, with tent and non-powered sites laid out in pleasant alcoves that give parking and pitches a bit of natural privacy. Facilities include flush toilets and a water supply, with water also available from the stream. The river is the highlight here: there's easy access for a swim or to cool off, and a couple of short bush walks lead directly from the campsite, making it a relaxed base for exploring this corner of the Kauaeranga Valley. The setting is quiet and tidy, suited to a peaceful overnight stay surrounded by native forest.
