Campsite in the Northland region
Uretiti Beach Campsite is a well-kept DOC site behind the dunes near Waipu, a short walk from a long white-sand surf beach in Northland.
Behind the sand dunes sits one of the more popular DOC campsites on this stretch of coast. The long white-sand surf beach is just a short walk from the grounds, so you can wander down for a swim or a look at the coastal scenery without much effort.
Sites are non-powered and set up for tents, with a cooking shelter, treated tap water that's fine for drinking, non-flush toilets and a hot shower for a couple of dollars. The grounds are wheelchair accessible and there's rubbish disposal on site. People rate it highly, and the amenities are clean and well kept, which is solid for a DOC spot.
