Hotoritori Campsite

Campsite in the Coromandel region

Hotoritori Campsite is a sheltered riverside spot in the Kauaeranga Valley, Coromandel, with bush walks and a swimming hole close by.

(1)

Tucked in beside the river in the Kauaeranga Valley, this is a peaceful spot in the bush. Tent and non-powered sites, non-flush toilets, and water from the stream. Simple stuff, but it does the job.

The valley is well known for its walking tracks, and there are some good ones within easy reach of camp. There's a nice swimming hole nearby too, handy on a warm day. The sheltered setting holds up well when the weather turns, and campers have ridden out a big storm here without any bother.

Worth knowing that dogs aren't allowed, as there are poison traps around the area. Good basecamp for exploring one of the Coromandel's most popular tramping valleys.
