Glenfalls Campsite

Campsite in the Hawke's Bay region

Glenfalls Campsite is a basic riverside spot on the Mohaka River, long popular for fishing, swimming and white water paddling.

(2)

Down along the Mohaka River, this is a basic riverside camp that has long been a favourite for getting on the water. Fishing, swimming, canoeing and rafting are all on offer, and white water kayakers use the area too.

A small ford crosses to a more secluded section on the left as you face the river, which comes in handy when larger groups have settled in on the main area. Facilities are simple: non-powered tent sites, non-flush toilets, and water drawn from the stream.

The setting is the main draw, with the river and surrounding Mohaka country making for a relaxed back-to-basics camp. Worth checking the latest comments before you rely on it, as this stretch of the Mohaka copped significant cyclone damage.
