A short, easy route in the Waikato that climbs up to a lookout above the Urchin Campsite. The drive is mostly gravel with a few hairpins as it winds up the hill, and it's an undemanding run that makes a good way to break up a longer north-south journey. The forest along the way is the real highlight here, with stunning bush flanking the climb. Don't expect a grand panorama at the top though, as the trees largely obscure the view from the lookout itself. Keep an eye out for a swing bridge nearby, which is worth a quick detour if you've got the time. A pleasant, relaxed stop rather than a technical challenge.
