A gravel road that climbs high into the Otago hills, with sweeping views out across the tussock country. The going is gentle by 4WD standards, more of a relaxed cruise than a technical challenge, so most capable vehicles will handle it fine.

Up at elevation you get the big open landscapes inland Otago is known for, high country backblocks stretching out in every direction. Plenty of connecting tracks branch off along the way, so it's easy to build a loop and find your own way back out to SH8.

Good one for linking several routes together and spending a day touring. The network of side tracks gives you flexibility to set your own pace and pick your own way home.
