SF70 Entry is the gateway to the well-known SF70 area in the Waikato. The graded entry road is a cool, easy drive in either direction and serves up good views of the surrounding country, which is why it's graded separately from the area beyond. Be sure to stick to the formed road on the way in — it's private land on the western side.

Once you're into the main loop it gets wild pretty quickly. The yellow tracks stay manageable, but the harder red tracks get gnarly, particularly in the wet. There's also a good network of offshoots at varying difficulty, so you can pick a line to suit your setup.

If you're planning to complete the loop you'll want multiple vehicles and a winch — plenty of visitors have turned back at the tougher sections and come back better prepared. A fun, popular spot with something for everyone.
