A short run along the sand on the Wairarapa coast, heading north from the access point at Riversdale Beach. Open ocean off to one side and a bit of room to take your time, though you'll be sharing it with walkers, anglers and other beach users, so keep your speed down and watch for people.

There's a stream crossing partway along that changes with the tides and weather, so have a look before you commit. Driving south from the entry isn't allowed, since vehicles are kept off the main stretch of beach in front of the houses. Stick to the northern run.
