Note: Red Rocks is closed to vehicles on Sundays from 6am till 6pm.

Explore the rugged South Coast of Wellington. Sand, rocks, river crossings and the infamous Devil's Gate, Red Rocks makes an awesome trip!

The first part of the track is fairly well graded and easy enough. Once you get beyond Devils Gate though you'll face long soft beaches and the tide, take care.

Before Devils Gate PLEASE STAY ON THE TRACK, OFF THE BEACHES AND SLOW DOWN. There are lots of walkers and mountain bikers around - plus pressure from local groups to shut vehicle access off. Let's not give them any reason to push harder.
