Pourerere Beach (North)

4WD track in the Hawke's Bay region

Pourerere Beach (North) is a Hawke's Bay coastal 4WD run below cliffs, with soft sand, rocks and river crossings that need timing around the tides.

(1)

Heading north from Pourerere Beach, this one follows the coast below a run of cliffs, with the Hawke's Bay shoreline on one side and rock and sand underfoot. Plenty of variety as you go, and good coastal scenery the whole way.

You'll find a mix of surfaces, soft sand in places, rocky stretches, and a few river crossings that add some fun to the run. Rates as a medium-grade drive, best for those comfortable handling changing conditions.

Tides are the main thing to keep an eye on. Some sections can close out at high tide, so it pays to check the tables and plan your run around them.
