Pohokura Road winds through the farm and forestry hills of inland Hawkes Bay, offering a relaxed round trip away from the seal. There's nothing tricky here - it's a well-kept gravel road with plenty of twists and turns to keep things interesting. Along the way you'll be treated to great views, a few little waterfalls, and what looks like several walking tracks if you fancy stretching your legs. The scenery is the real draw, taking you past a couple of cool things to see as you roll through the countryside. Link it up with Waitara Road to form a full loop back to SH5, making for a satisfying day out without much technical challenge. A good option for those wanting an easy, scenic gravel cruise through the Hawkes Bay backcountry.
