An easy gravel run that winds through a valley out past Opotiki way, with rural farmland and bush for company most of the way.

The road stays straightforward gravel throughout, so it's a relaxed cruise. Pleasant valley scenery rolls by, and the easy kilometres make it a good one to string into a longer trip.

Otara Road earns its keep as a link, connecting through to Boulders Road where you can pitch up for the night. Good choice when you just want easy going and decent views on the way to your next stop.
