A simple, well-formed gravel track that climbs out into the Oteake Conservation Park, rewarding you with stunning, wide-open high-country views. The route is straightforward and generally an easy drive, making it accessible without serious technical challenge. There are quite a few farm gates along the way, so it might pay to bring a friend to help with opening and closing them - and please be sure to leave every gate as you found them. The track links into the wider network of roads in this part of Otago and can be used to complete a loop around the nearby dam. With its smooth gravel surface and sweeping scenery, it's a relaxed way to experience the open landscapes of the conservation park.
