Open tussock country defines this easygoing gravel run through the Mackenzie, out Twizel way. Big skies, wide braided river flats, and distant mountains in just about every direction.

The road heads right down to Lake Kenmore, where it ties in with other gravel roads nearby. Plenty of folks link it up with the wider network of backroads to put together a longer loop.

Good one for anyone keen to explore the high country at a gentle pace and string a few routes into a full day out.
