Haldon Arm to lookout - via Iron Bridge

4WD track in the Canterbury region

(2)

This short, scenic track in Canterbury links the Haldon Arm campground with the lookout near the dam. It's an easy, family-friendly route that follows the iron bridge, so you avoid any significant river crossings along the way. The going is mostly gravel and the track rewards you with great views over the lake and dam area, making it a worthwhile little detour or add-on if you're camping at Haldon Arm. Note that the track can be lined with overgrowth in places, so expect the occasional brush of branches against the vehicle. Overall it's a relaxed, picturesque drive that's well suited to those after gentle terrain and good scenery rather than a technical challenge.
