4WD track in the Coromandel region
Fletcher Bay Road is an easy Coromandel gravel run to the peninsula's northern tip, finishing at a remote coastal campsite at the end of the road.
This gravel road runs right out to the northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula, finishing at Fletcher Bay. It's an easy cruise that opens up one of the more remote corners of the country without needing anything hardcore under you.
The drive is half the appeal, winding along toward the top of the peninsula with the coast never far away. At the end you'll find the campsite, a good spot to pitch up for the night with proper coastal scenery and that real end-of-the-road feeling.
Worth knowing: no dogs are allowed in the area, whether you're camping or just passing through.
