In the dry, Ernie's Place is a scenic cruise out through the valley. Being in the Taranaki though, the second it gets any water on it at all, it turns into a slippery mess.
The road is closed over winter to help protect the surface and stop people getting into trouble.
As the road passes through private land, it's vital you stay on the track, leave gates as you found them and don't disturb any stock that may be wandering around.
