East Manuherikia tracks are within Oteake Conservation Area, it is a great run with lots of high-altitude views as you climb up and over the mountain range, with five river crossings.

Important note: AFTER the confluence of both the East and West Branch Rivers plus their associated tributaries there is a largest river crossing and at times of high water flow it could be dangerous. The above mentioned crossing of the East Branch has quite a few boulder, but are very easily doable at times of normal river flow, however it should not be attempted at times of high river levels or flood as it often becomes channeled, swift and dangerous
