Just outside Wanaka on the eastern shore of Lake Wanaka, a simple gravel road runs out to Dublin Bay beach. The lake and the mountains behind it are the real drawcard here.

The driving is easy-going. There's one short hill climb along the way that can hold some decent-sized ruts, but it stays well within reach of most rigs. More of a relaxed day out than a technical challenge.

Plenty of space to park up under the trees, so it's a good spot for a swim or a picnic on a warm day.
